Anthony Martial in ‘advanced talks’ with Juventus but Italian giants yet to speak with Manchester United

MANCHESTER UNITED forward Anthony Martial is close to joining Juventus, according to reports.

United boss Jose Mourinho has never looked totally convinced by the 22-year-old during his two years in charge at Old Trafford.

Paris United reckon Martial’s representatives are thrashing out personal terms with the Serie A champions after the ex-Monaco star’s agent declared his man wanted out of United.

Philippe Lamboley said last month: “After thinking about all the possibilities and scenarios, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United.

“Manchester United want to extend Anthony’s contract and do not want him to leave but we haven’t found an agreement despite several months of negotiations.

“I think that when Manchester United, which is the most powerful club in the world it must be remembered, do not find an agreement in eight months of negotiations, it is because they do really want to make him an important player.

“That’s why this decision comes in. It is a well considered decision.”

Despite Martial wanting to leave, SunSport revealed earlier this month United are desperate to keep him and have slapped whopping £100million price tag on his head.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham have been monitoring the situation.

If United were prepared to do business, they would prefer not to sell to a domestic rival as they still believe he can establish himself as one of the best forwards in Europe.

Martial is licking his wounds this summer after starting just 18 Premier League games last season and failing to make the French squad for the World Cup.
